According to the Independent, Tony Blair has put in motion a plan to bring nuclear power and a package of renewable energy sources online in the UK:

'In a speech last night, the Prime Minister foreshadowed the review by saying the replacement of Britain's nuclear power stations is "back on the agenda with a vengeance". He also promised a "big push" on renewables and a "step change" to boost energy efficiency'.

The government will conduct a review.  The 'big push' on renewables appears not to be a strong enough olive branch to the environmental groups, who see nuclear power as 'dangerous' and the review as 'an absurdity' and 'a complete sham'.  Sounds like a rollicking good time for Blair!  I've never understood the irrational fear of nuclear power.  Of course, I've never seen a three-headed fish, either.
